Dihydrocupreine Base – Fine Chemical

CAS-No. 5962-19-6

Dihydrocupreine Base (CAS-No. 5962-19-6) is a cinchona alkaloid closely related to Cupreine. Compared to Cupreine the double bond is hydrogenated, but the stereochemistry is the same.

Physical Properties

Dihydrocupreine Base (CAS-No. 5962-19-6) is a white or almost white, crystalline powder or it consists of fine, colourless needles. The melting point is in the range of 167 – 180 °C. This compound is not hygroscopic and contains less than 5.0 % water. Dihydrocupreine could be stored at ambient conditions in well-closed, light-resistant containers.

Synonyms

Hydrocupreine, (8S,9R)-10,11-Dihydro-6`-hydroxycinchonan-9-ol, (8α,9R)-10,11-Dihydro-6`-hydroxycinchonan-9-ol and (R)-[(2S,4S,5R)-5-Ethyl-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-yl](6-hydroxyquinolin-4-yl)methanol.
