Dihydrocinchonidine Base – Fine Chemical

CAS-No. 485-64-3

Dihydrocinchonidine Base (CAS-No. 485-64-3) is a cinchona alkaloid closely related to Cinchonidine. Compared to Cinchonidine the double bond is hydrogenated, the stereochemistry is the same. Cinchona alkaloids such as Dihydrocinchonidine are recognized as a privileged class of compounds being widely used as chiral organocatalysts/ligands/phase transfer catalysts in asymmetric synthesis and in racemic resolution processes.

Physical Properties

Dihydrocinchonidine Base (CAS-No. 485-64-3) is a white or almost white, crystalline powder or it consists of fine, colourless needles. The melting point is in the range of 235 – 238 °C. This compound is not hygroscopic and contains less than 1.0 % water. It could be stored at ambient conditions in well-closed, light-resistant containers.
